Restructured a department and gave the local business greater focus on its Clients, creating many improved opportunities to engage. This resulted in several successful bids with Clients where contracts had been lost for several years. Nationally we started to engage with our Supply Chain more proactively both on a national and regional basis, improving our standing with our Supply Chain and our clients. We established internal procedures to improve the engagement with our Clients both on a local and national basis. This resulted in improving knowledge of projects to place us in a stronger position to secure future work and improve motivation within our teams.
- Secured 2 contracts with Local Authorities who had ceased trading with Tarmac, worth £1.5 million for 3 years.
- Introduced a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and process into Tarmac National Contracting for all commercial and operational teams to develop measured relationships of value.
- Arranged, designed and hosted a National Supply Chain conference supported by regional events to drive value through Supply Chain partners.
- Designed the Roads 2020 events to target Local Authorities in the UK, organising guest speakers to talk through report findings to an invited audience.
- Established quarterly commercial forums to drive improvement in client understanding and commercial performance.
- Restructured the commercial team to give greater sector focus, reducing the risk to the business through improved awareness of debt, credit, workload and relationships.
