Let me tell you a little about myself…

I am Neil Black, the man behind Alleviate Consulting Limited and the motivation for deciding to operate as a consultant in a very challenging business environment when it would be so much easier to stay within the comfort of an established business with a good solid reputation.

Well, back on the 12th December 2012, I experienced a life changing moment which made me re-evaluate my whole life, not just my business life, and my life was never going to be the same again. We all need some help from time to time and it’s not always easy to see the right path to travel, and many things can get in the way to you achieving your aspirations and goals in life.

I have been in the construction industry for over 35 years, experienced many good times and witnessed many badly managed situations, but the best time of my working career came after been made redundant by a family run business and being given the opportunity by a large national construction company to set up a brand new business. It gave me the opportunity to grab a concept of a new business in an established market and implement all my ideas of how a business should operate and within 10 years we were considered to be one of the top 3 in the country.

We did not sacrifice on any element of business and we believed passionately about the two most important parts of any business: your Clients and your People (which includes your supply chain). Believe me, if you get that right, with good communication you will have a successful business. However, most people focus on Cash and Health & Safety, which does not bring the best results.

You will notice, when you look at the services that Alleviate Consulting Limited offer, they may be considered the soft issues and not hard issues. Well it’s my firm belief that the services we offer, with all their sub elements, are the services most people struggle with, but equally important are the issues that will differentiate your business from the competition and secure your long term profitability.

Pioneered a programme for the Highways Agency as part of the Construction Management Framework for 22 different organisations, removing their self-interest for a Project First Attitude and winning the Long Term Partnering Award. Established a fully integrated supply chain for the Highways Agency with no contractual letters, resulting in excess of £25 million savings over 10 years.
