In my capacity as an Institute of Collaborative Working Practitioner (ICW), I recently manned the stand for the ICW at the NDA Supply Chain Event in Manchester. I grabbed the opportunity to attend the opening presentations delivered by John Clarke and Mike Wareham before the exhibition hall opened. The gathered attendees were presented with key themes for the day “Collaborate & Innovate”. With over 1,800 delegates and 270 exhibitors it was promoted as the biggest event in Europe.
It was certainly the biggest conference attended by myself and coincided with the NDA celebrating its 10th birthday. The NDA has spent over 12 billion in 10 years on the Supply Chain (which equates to 1.8 billion per annum) with over 3,500 Supply Chain Specialists. This was an excellent opportunity to promote the work of the ICW to a relatively new audience. We were able to engage and promote Collaborative Working to a specialist Supply Chain, major clients like Sellafield, design consultants like CH2M, The Welsh Government, cost consultants and contractors alike. It has also opened doors to potentially talk at future events.
We are passionate at the ICW about Collaborative Working and promoting the real benefits for all parties who fully engage in the process. If you are interested in hearing more about how the ICW can help support you with Collaborative Working please drop me a line.
