One of our Clients, AQuA, brought to my attention that not only was there a “Black Friday” but also a “Giving Tuesday” – this was news to my ears. Once I understood what Giving Tuesday actually meant, I quickly volunteered my services for a day completely free of charge to an AQuA member. Giving Tuesday is actually on the 28th November and was officially founded in 2012 in New York partnering with the United Nations Foundation. It kicks off the charitable season of goodwill, a cultural centre in New York dating back as far as 1874 have been bringing people together around the values of service and giving.

Giving Tuesday is about connecting diverse groups of individuals, communities and organisations around the world for one common purpose. We look to celebrate and encourage giving, joining forces to collaborate, offering expertise, working tirelessly to grow the movement of giving. Alleviate Consulting Limited is now going to adopt this on an annual basis and we have currently met with one of our AQuA members to share our expertise.

A meeting between Bolton NHS Integrated Community Services Division, Divisional Director of Operations and myself has taken place on the 1st December. We have agreed that a workshop will take place in January where we will pass on our knowledge and expertise with an interactive session for Integrated Services. The workshop will cover Culture, Vision, Values, Behaviours, Leadership, Teamwork  and Collaboration with very practical solutions tailored to their needs.

Alleviate Consulting Limited are delighted to be able to give something back to a Health Community that saved my life back in December 2012. We have also extended a hand to our most valuable clients with some festive gifts for their wider teams to share joy, which have been gratefully received.

Giving Tuesday can harness the potential of the human spirit that defines us as people, the use of social media can spread the word across the world. An old fashioned conversation brought this to my ears and giving can make a real change to people lives, I am much happier when am giving back as a person. Giving Tuesday gives us all a platform to encourage the donation of time, resources, talent and the human spirit to address local challenges. It brings people together, the collective power and unique blend of people helping each other without any notion of profit or self benefit. Giving Tuesday can unite us all in small acts of kindness, empowering the human spirit to make a huge difference to someone’s life.
